 WORKSHOP PRESENTATION FORMAT

• The duration of the workshop is 90 minutes
• As the moderator you will briefly introduce yourself, give a quick backdrop / introduction to the topic and introduce the speakers as well as guide the conversation. The discussion will then open out amongst the panel and conclude with questions from the online audience.

Here are just some ideas on how we can further promote your participation as a speaker/presenter at the upcoming event:

• Share your thoughts - either a written testimonial or short 30 second video. Tell us what you’re most looking forward to at the event and we’ll include it in our brand ambassador campaigns leading up to the event.

 PRESENTATION CHECKLIST:

• Should you have any videos to include in the presentation, please send it as a separate .mp4 video file format.
• Presentation slides must be impactful. That means clear, short and not too text heavy. We encourage using more creatives and images during the workshop presentation to keep attendees engaged.
• Please also do let us know if we have your permission to share the digital masterclass with our audience after the event.
• We are planning to host a speaker briefing on Thursday 5^th August 2021 at 14:00 as well a technical dry run on Tuesday 10 August at 09:30 , link and meeting request to follow, to give you an opportunity to e-meet the other presenters and discuss the session format and answer any questions you may have. You will be provided with a total of two links, one for a speaker briefing and one for the technical dry run. A meeting invite along with your meeting links.

 PRESENTATION HINTS AND TIPS:

• Please ensure your workshop presentation has a clear introduction, middle and end
• Please rehearse your workshop presentation
• Please prepare your workshop presentation with the viewer in mind
• Please remember to talk like you talk rather than talk how you write

 DIGITAL SPEAKER CHECK-LIST:

The tips listed previously would apply to a virtual speaking session too, however if it’s your first time presenting on a digital platform, these steps will help guide you to present confidently and keep your audience engaged.

Preparation:

• Select a quiet and comfortable location from which you can offer your workshop presentation
• Choose a location that provides a background that the attendees will find interesting
• Do not select a plain wall as your backdrop – stage the scene, if necessary
• Be sure there is at least 10 feet of clearance between you and your backdrop
• Dress professionally
• Wear solid coloured clothing, avoiding anything that is green
• If you don’t have a high-speed connection with plenty of bandwidth, consider an upgrade for a smooth and seamless video feed. Perform a self-check by going to https://www.speedtest.net/
• If you are using a WiFI connection, turn off other devices that share the same signal.
• Does your webcam or standalone video camera provide a full HD feed? If not, it may also be time for an upgrade. Check your video camera quality beforehand
• Make sure your audio output is high quality. A lavalier or standalone USB microphone are the best choices over built-in computer mics
• Set your video camera at eye level and within two feet of you for optimal framing.
• Set up a light source so that it shines on your face as you look into the camera. Avoid bright lighting behind you, including windows
• Prepare your presentation space at least one week before your presentation.
• Rehearse on your own using slides and videos you will use during your presentation.
• Record your rehearsal for review
• Our production team will be in touch leading up the event to go through a full technical rehearsal with you – to test everything from your webcam, sound and sharing of any presentations if need be. Ask questions about anything that might concern you. Be prepared.

Before going live:

• Check your webcam or video is at eye level and that any final sound tests are done
• Turn off or place your smartphone in silent mode
• Ask your production team for any final instructions.
• Keep your mouse as far away from the microphone as possible if you are advancing your own slides and script.
• Prepared notes generated from your computer should be positioned and scrolled so that you are reading from the top line of the script, which will be closest to the camera.

During your presentation:

• Maintain eye contact with your audience and engage with them often.

·       Stay calm if a technical issue occurs during your presentation and be ready to put an alternative plan in place. Your production team will step in to assist and guide you if necessary.
